MESA HOUSE

Conceived as a modern desert retreat, Mesa House was designed in 2026 as a bold exploration of stacked container architecture and elevated living. The client envisioned a two-bedroom residence that would capitalize on expansive views while maintaining the efficiency and structural clarity of modular construction. The final composition delivers approximately 1,120 square feet of interior living space, thoughtfully distributed across two levels using three 40’ High Cube containers — two forming the ground floor and a single 40’ unit elevated above to create a striking cantilevered profile.
The ground level, configured from two parallel 40’ containers, establishes a generous open-plan living, kitchen, and dining environment anchored by strong visual axes to the surrounding landscape. Full-height glazing enhances daylight penetration and reinforces indoor–outdoor continuity. A sculptural spiral staircase introduces vertical movement and architectural character, connecting the social core below to the private upper level. The elevated 40’ container accommodates the secondary bedroom and flexible workspace, extending directly onto a spacious rooftop terrace that functions as an outdoor living room.

Materially, Mesa House is defined by clean linear cladding, controlled fenestration, and a restrained palette suited to arid contexts. The lifted upper volume creates shaded exterior space beneath, improving passive performance while reinforcing the home’s dynamic form. Mesa House represents a refined balance between modular efficiency and contemporary residential expression — a two-story container home engineered for clarity, durability, and spatial sophistication.
